There’s no better way to welcome the summer than with an event that celebrates the good stuff in life. Enter Balance Festival, offering everything from delicious food to fun fitness and accessible wellbeing (and that’s not forgetting the pleasure of a glass or two of prosecco).
If you’re part of the 85% of the population* seeking a little more wellbeing but on your own terms (ie, without forgoing fun to favour a lifetime of abstinence and kale); Balance Festival is for you. Taking place at The Old Truman Brewery in London from 12– 14 May; it will bring together fun-loving foodies, fantastic fitness trainers, awe-inspiring yogis, and most importantly, real people with a quest to enjoy life. Mouth-watering menus designed by some of the UK’s best chefs and healthy restaurants. Discover the medicinal properties of wholefoods with Dale Pinnock ‘The Medicinal Chef’ and savour healthy food-to-go with Stephanie Johnson’s Pollen + Grace. The avo-crazy are in for a treat with Avo Kitchen, solely serving gourmet variations of avocado on toast. For the particularly ravenous, you can’t beat a good burger – healthy and hearty from the BGR Shop.
Premium protein brand Neat Nutrition will be providing post workout replenishment in their Refuel Café. You can also pull up a stool at the deliciously different dairy free MXLK Bar, and Ozone Coffee Roasters will be sharing their insights on the best nut milk pairings for your coffee. Fancy something harder? Balance Festival has got you covered, with bars dedicated to some of the finer things in life: prosecco and oysters and the best in artisan gin. Master the art of healthy cooking in the Live Cooking Theatre. Expect plant-based workshops from Bettina Campolucci of Bettina’s Kitchen, learn all there is to know about fermented foods with Irena Macri of Eat Drink Paleo, or find out how to use turmeric three ways with The Flexi Foodie, Julie Montagu. Join the ultimate Fitness Feast hosted by Zanna Van Dijk, and also featuring Healthy Chef Steph, The Food Medic, and Clean Eating Alice.
The Fitness Line-Up Be introduced to a whole host of London’s best fitness offerings, from Another Space, Equinox and Barry’s Bootcamp to Boom Cycle, F45, UN1T, Xtend Barre and Triyoga. Discover new workouts with taster sessions, or go all out with a Balance signature collision-style workout, paring two different instructors from completely different disciplines to create a workout perfectly choreographed to a live DJ set.
Forget what you thought you knew about meditation and get over your barriers with mindfulness. Learn how best to live in the moment and enjoy a more fulfilling life balance, with guided practice from the likes of Vedic Meditation expert Will Williams and inspirational talks on everything from body image to self-empowerment with experts such as global yogi and wellness warrior Michael James Wong and motivational speaker Jody Shield.
Whether it’s drum and bass that gets your heart racing, or soulful melodies that help you find your flow,The Music line-up at Balance Festival has a set for every session. We’ve got everything from old-school rock-n-roll, to RnB, deep house, techno, and ska. Work up a sweat or relax and chill out to the best tunes around, from the likes of lady DJ duo Smoking Guns, Aina Roxx, DJ Q, Lola and Jesus.
Balance Inc: a new breed of urban lifestyle events pioneering healthy living and wellbeing. Launching in London in May 2017, Balance presents interactive experiences around four experiential pillars: food, fitness, wellness and travel. Balance aims to create a no-nonsense platform showcase best-in-class practices and products, engaging and educating a wider audience to ultimately catalyse growth and elevate standards across the wellness sector.
Balance Urban Tri
is a charity sportive taking place on Saturday 13 May, starting at 7:30am in The Olympic Park. A HIIT session will take place in the park, followed by a 7k run to The Old Truman Brewery, finishing with a yoga and meditation session. The Urban Tri aims to raise £300,000 through entry fees and donations. All profits raised by this fundraising sportive will be donated to Project Waterfall, part of The Allegra Foundation.
