Hayden and Amit, the founders of Bulb.

Hayden and Amit are two friends who used to work in the energy industry. Then left to set up Bulb.

When it comes to choose between energy that harms the planet and energy that doesn’t it’s a fairly simple decision. Most often though we don’t know where to start. Bulb is the answer. UK’s new gas and electricity supplier provides renewable energy to all households on one of the lowest tariffs out there.

Amit and Hayden the founders of Bulb – are two friends that come from the traditional energy industry. As it stands customer satisfaction is very low, poor service and tariffs are to say the least confusing, inefficient and expensive. When you switch to Bulb you make sure that your energy power comes from renewable energy and that you no longer have to feel guilty about the environmental damage your household.

Bulb supplies 100% renewable electricity and 10% green gas. By switching to Bulb for every unit of electricity you use, a unit is produced and put on the Green Grid by a pollution free renewable source like Llyn Brenig Hydro in North Wales.

100% renewable electricity translates to zero carbon dioxide emissions and no radioactive waste. Bulb provides the following example – For an average sized home which uses 3,100 kWh of electricity per year, that amounts a to a reduction of 899 kg of carbon emissions and 22g of radioactive waste per year by switching to Bulb.

If we look at the gas from Bulb, 10% of its gas comes from biomethane. That’s gas produced from organic matter like sewage and manure – which is then reinjected onto the grid. By using these sustainable resources we are being kinder to the world and reducing our negative footprint. To date, Bulb has supplied 4,490,000 kWh of electricity. Producing this much electricity from 100% renewable sources rather than the UK average fuel mix saves 1,302 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions and 31 kg of radioactive waste.

With Bulb you can try something new and support a more fair and open energy company that engages and supports its community. Bulb is committed to supporting independent renewable generators and work with the community. Bulb donated £5 to the Tree Council for each new member during the period September 2015 – March 2016. Be part of the renewable energy revolution not only will you be supporting renewable technology but you will be also saving on your household bills. Being Green has never been easier.
